About Dr. Jain:

Dr. Prem C Jain, President and Founder of Spectral has a brilliant academic background in engineering culminating into Doctor

of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, USA.

He is the first practicing engineer in India to have been nominated in 1995, Fellow of the American Society of Heating

Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE USA) in its history of a hundred years. He is the founder President

of ASHRAE-INDIA Chapter.

In 2005, he was bestowed with ASHRAE’s highest honour - Louise and Bill Holladay “DISTINGUISHED FELLOW”

award.

Earlier this year in January 2009, he was again honoured by ASHRAE with “John F James International Award” for

outstanding services in bringing ASHRAE to the International forum.

He is also the Founder and President Emeritus of Indian Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers

(ISHRAE). He was honoured by ISHRAE & ASHRAE India with Life Time Achievement Award in 2007 and IT BHU

Alumni Excellence award 2008 by Banaras Hindu University.

He is Fellow of a large number of International Societies. He has been listed in Marquis Who’s Who in the World and in

Marquis Who’s Who in Science & Engineering from 1997 onwards, and in Baron’s “The Asia 500 Leaders For The New

Century” published in the USA in 2000.

He is the Convener for the section on Air Conditioning Heating & Ventilation for “National Building Code of India (NBC-

2005). He is Visiting Faculty at School of Planning & Architecture, Delhi University for the last 35 years.

In the HVAC industry throughout India and in the USA, his name is synonymous with the Science of Air Conditioning and

he is known as one of the most outstanding Consulting Engineers with Design experience spanning more than 50 years.

He Founded “Spectral Services Consultants Pvt. Ltd in 1980, which is today amongst India’s Leading Consultancy Organization,

pioneering in design of Green Buildings services systems. He is Chairman of Indian Green Building Council. His organization

Spectral has the rare honor of having designed services systems for Five LEED (USA) Platinum Buildings by USGBC & One

Platinum LEED India by IGBC.
