What many people don't know is that Mr Pitroda was the "Father" of the digital PBX and ACD in the 1974-75 time frame. His invention, the 580 DSS switch became a hit across the world in 1978.
He did that pioneering work at Wescom which was acquired by Rockwell where Sam headed up the Digital Switching division. At every telecom conference from 1977-1980 you heard the name Sam Pitroda!
In 1975 Sam invented the first hand Electronic Diary which was a precursor of hand-held computing. He has 100 patents to his credit.
